For Noskova, her mother had been one of her biggest supporters and she also traveled with the WTA star on her tours. In January, when Noskova reached the Australian Open’s quarterfinals, Denik Sport interviewed Noskova’s late mother Ivana about her feelings. Despite being happy, Ivana Noskova revealed that she couldn’t join her daughter in Melbourne this time. “Certainly not (about traveling to Melbourne for the Australian Open), even if she played the final. I am sick, the long journey itself is exhausting. We watch everything at home, keep our fingers crossed and stay connected. Over the years, we have traveled a lot together”- she said.

This Czechia player’s mother was battling with cancer for a long time. While her health conditions didn’t let her join Noskova in Melbourne, she was expecting her daughter to perform her best. This Czechia player fought with all her heart and defeated Sara Errani at Wimbledon’s first round. However, in the second round, Noskova lost to Bianca Andreescu ending her Wimbledon journey this year. Linda Noskova’s mother was “really looking forward to Wimbledon”

This year’s Wimbledon was truly saddening for Noskova as her mother passed away before the British Grand Slam revealing her wish to attend it. In Denik Sport’s interview in January, Noskova’s late mother was asked if there was any tour that she wanted to visit. Ivana Noskova said in her response, “I’m really looking forward to Wimbledon! It didn’t work out once, last year she was officially there for the first time, but I couldn’t for health reasons. I’m really looking forward to the atmosphere, the specific game on grass. Just like traditional strawberries with whipped cream.”

Noskova exited Wimbledon after her defeat against Canada’s Andreescu but remained the number 2 Czechia player. Despite not being able to watch her daughter’s game, Noskova’s late mother died knowing that her daughter was still one of the best in Czechia’s tennis scene.
