Serena Williams and Venus Williams have been inspirational figures around the globe. They have achieved a lot in their playing career. And currently, a movie based on their childhood and focusing on their father’s behind the scene works received 6 nominations for the Oscars.

Arguably the best sister’s pair ever to dominate the Tennis court have their movie nominated for the Pinnacle of all the entertainment world awards. While speaking with Kelly Carter, the Entertainment writer for ESPN, Serena was excited about the movie’s huge accomplishments.

Serena Williams expressed ultimate joy for the movie

Serena, a huge movie fan, is on the other side of the world this time. She presented the Best film award in 2019, while she will be in the audience this time and wait for her film’s name as a winner on 6 different occasions.

When asked about this change of role, she said, “Yeah, you know it’s a completely different experience now. Obviously, huge fan of film as the art, you know, I just feel like it’s such an incredible art that these artists do and are such an amazing part of. And now, it’s like, I feel like, okay. Wimbledon was cooler, whatever but this the real deal”

After her cheerful and joyous reply, the younger sister turned a bit serious and commented on the motive of the movie. She told an interviewer that the storyline of the movie is very inspiring. She explained, “We need a story that’s gonna uplift people and that’s gonna have moments that make everyone feel good”

Serena Williams was part of a group of people associated with the film being interviewed online. Her elder sister Venus Williams, Actor-producer Will Smith, and actor Aunjanue Ellis were also interviewed.

The Movie’s nominations category

2 hr. 24 min film premiered on 2nd September 2021 and quickly became a hit among the viewers. A story revolving around Richard Williams’ life was acclaimed by many film critics.

Will Smith playing the lead role in the movie has nomination for the “Best Actor award”, while Aunjanue Ellis also has nomination for “Best supporting actress” in supporting role as Coach Price in the movie

 

Some technical nominations for “Best film editing” and “Best original screenplay” are also there in the 94th Annual Academy awards. “Be Alive” song is nominated for “Best original Song”.
