The Belarusian tennis star recently brought to light a throwback picture in which she was spotted sharing a heartfelt moment with her late father. It was captioned “daddy” (translated from Google), with a string of heart emojis.
The currently ranked world No. 2 player got overwhelmed with emotions as she shared the nostalgic memory with a heart-wrenching wish. While sharing that throwback picture on her Instagram story, Aryna Sabalenka added a caption, “6 years ago…Wish I could go back in time …”

The reigning Australian Open champion’s father has undoubtedly been a major support system while he was also the one who introduced her to the sport. Notably, she has always hailed him after some of her most triumphant moments on the court.

Sabalenka previously hailed her father in an emotional message
A few seasons back, the Belarusian tennis player showcased tremendous courage by participating in the WTA 250 tournament in Adelaide, soon after her father’s demise. Following her initial round victory against the Taiwanese tennis player, Hsieh Su-wei, she hailed her father in an emotional message. Sabalenka said that she has been determined amidst all the challenges because her father wanted her to be number 1 in the women’s circuit.
In her post-match conference at the Adelaide International, she stated, “I’m just trying to fight because my father wanted me to be number 1 and I’m doing it for him and that’s what helps me stay strong right now.”
