“Basketball is one of my favorite sports, and the chance to support a league that’s redefining the game is exciting,” Coco Gauff said earlier this month while revealing herself as one of the investors in Unrivaled. It’s a new women’s basketball league, based in the US. Its inaugural season kicked off on January 17. And on Saturday, Gauff eventually decided to make her Unrivaled debut. No, she’s not representing any of the six clubs. The 2024 WTA Finals winner and World No.3 attended one of the matches as a spectator. But who did she cheer for?

Taking to her Instagram on Saturday, Gauff shared a series of pictures and clips. In a photo, she was seen posing with American star and her friend Aliyah Boston of Indiana Fever. The latter is competing for team Vinyl at Unrivaled. Gauff arrived on the night of Vinyl’s battle with Mist. The 2023 US Open winner was seen sporting a fashionable blue denim fit. Before her match, Aliyah put up a story with Gauff saying “the queen herself 👑” to which the 20-year-old tennis star replied, “Two queens 👑”

Meanwhile, Gauff also shared a clip where she was seen giving autographs, as the announcer gave her a shoutout for making it to the league to witness live action. In another clip, the 2025 Australian Open quarterfinalist was seen cheering for Lunar Owls’ Napheesa Collier. Ultimately, Collier’s team won 75-73 against Laces. In the last story, Gauff shared a post from her X account and urged everyone to follow Unrivaled. The post read, “If you’re not turning into unrivaled you’re missing out.”

After her Australian Open exit last week, Gauff is currently on a break. Despite losing in the QF round against Paula Badosa, the American wasn’t left dejected. She was quite happy with her overall run down under. “I’m not crushed, but obviously it does feel bad when you feel like you’re playing great tennis for the better start of this year to lose, but it is what it is,” she said. Hoping for a quick turnaround, the 20-year-old further added, “We’ll get back to work.”
