The tennis realm has witnessed some of the greatest players on the WTA tour over the past few decades. Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, and Serena Williams are at the top of that list of players. However, when it comes to having an ‘accomplished career’, Evert believes that it is players from her generation, Navratilova and Graf who have an upper hand over the 23-time singles Grand Slam champion.

Evert further revealed the reason while also accepting that Williams at her best was better than anybody on the tour. However, the 18-time singles Grand Slam champion asserted that Serena is not the most accomplished player by comparing her to the tennis superstars of her generation.

The 18-time singles Grand Slam champion was featured in an interview where she was asked about Serena Williams’ Goat debate while comparing her to the other generation of players. Chris Evert answered by saying that Williams at her best was better than anybody. However, when it comes to the most accomplished career, Evert believes that it is her old rivals, Steffi and Martina who are the accomplished players.

The former tennis player added that she thinks where Serena excels is just the number of Grand Slam titles that she won. However, she added that’s not everything to become the most accomplished player. Evert later compared Williams to other tennis greats by saying, “you know that’s Martina played singles, doubles, and mixed you know Martina won more tournaments than anybody. “

She added, “Steffi won the golden slam you know four grand slams and the Olympic. Steffy when boy some of those years were dominant when she was number one. And yeah, I think every generation has better players.”

Later on, the Tennis Hall of Famer also said that Williams was overpowering as she used to ace some of the greatest serves ever against her opponents. Evert further praised her by saying that she was always consistent and disciplined on the court. She went on to say that everything clicked for Williams as no opponent in the past could have beaten her at her best.

In saying that, Evert also added that she applaud Steffi and Martina because they had more accomplished tennis journeys. She further praised her old rivals by saying that they played more and they’re more consistent.
