If there is one thing their parents don’t want for their kids – it’s adulthood! Ask Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, who is of the same brand of dads who worry about their kid’s childhood being quickly over. In the blink of an eye, his oldest daughter Olympia has gone from being a toddler to a 6-year-old owning companies!

Ohanian and Williams also have another daughter, newborn Adira. But while she will turn a year old in August, Ohanian is making the most of his time with his eldest. Social media is full of their pancake adventures on Sunday mornings or sweet letters from Alexis Ohanian Jr. to Sr. However, the Reddit co-founder is scared that as Olympia grows up, these rituals will come to a standstill.

Ohanian explained his ordeal in the latest episode of the ‘Business Dad’ podcast, “The most common reminder I have to give myself is to be in that moment 100% for her.” Photographs and videos will help parents remember this early phase of childhood, but nothing beats being present in the moment for a kid, to show up consistently. “Look, I you know, we all got these little distractions on us at all times. But I’m trying to catch myself as fast as I can to be like, ‘This is the moment. These are the times that I’m gonna miss so much when she’s grown,'” he continued.

Morning rituals like these have also helped Olympia learn as she grows up, but it’s not to say that she isn’t embarrased of her dad at the same time! In October last year, Ohanian posted a hilarious picture of himself and Olympia at a dance recital, where he can be seen in a tank top, shorts, crocs and socks.

He holds up a camera to the mirror for a selfie but the difference is in his attitude and his daughter’s – while Sr. is grinning cheekily, Jr. is stomping off camera with her arms across her chest. All in a tiny ballet outfit!

But it’s undebiable that these activities are going to leave a positive imprint on the 6-year-old, who has a dedicated man for a father. It’s also obvious that the family rituals have Serena Williams’ stamp of approval, as Ohanian explained further.

He went on to add, “And I think even those little rituals in the morning are so helpful. And I think that’s the stuff that everyone’s gonna remember. I mean, that’s it’s got your mom’s fingerprints all over it.”

Meanwhile, Olympia’s quick growing up can also be determined by the fact that she is already carving a niche for herself in the business world.

Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian issues a bold statement on his daughter’s early success

Just 6 years old, Olympia is already a successful businesswoman. She has stakes in Angel City FC, an NWSL soccer club, and a TGL golf club, becoming the youngest owner of two sporting clubs. On this success, Alexis Ohanian revealed the idea behind these investments and how they will help his children in the future.

He revealed, “I want to build a legacy for my children. The thing I know I wanted to shield them from was this idea that they are special just because of who their parents are. They are special, but for other reasons. Reasons of their own accounting and agency.”

The Reddit co-founder himself is a successful businessman. His investments, especially in the sporting world, are creating a wave of change as he has been quite vocal in backing women’s leagues like the NWSL. Thus, Alexis Ohanian is determined to create a big impact, both financially and socially, through his business ventures, something that will be a boon for his daughters when they grow up.
