‘Wouldn’t Be Part of Our Family…..’ – Martina Navratilova Once Admitted How She Broke a Wedding Vow to Wife Julia Lemigova

Former American tennis star Martina Navratilova is among the greatest of all time. The 65-year-old had a long illustrious career. She was active on the tennis court for over four decades. The American won 18 Grand Slam titles and finally hung the racket in 2006. Born and brought up in the Czech Republic, the tennis star moved to America as political turmoil in her country was resisting her from freely participating in the tournaments.

Talking of her personal life, the 65-year-old married her long-time girlfriend Julia Lemigova in 2014. While the couple is madly in love with each other, there are a few things they don’t like about their partner.

Things Navratilova and Julia dislike about each other

Navratilova promised her beau before marriage that she will stay away from social media, as the Russian hated it. However, The 65-year-old didn’t keep her promise and still is very active on Twitter. Here’s what Julia said in an interview.

“When I see you on the Twitter, on the social media all the time, my romantic thing goes down.”

Replying to it, the former tennis star accepted she broke a promise. However, she had a complaint with Julia as well.

“[I promised] Twitter wouldn’t be part of our family,” she said.

“Julia gets on my case a lot more than I think she ought to. Too many things bother her, is what bothers me about her … Can I just go 24 hours without you picking on something that I do. Just 24 hours, just give me one day,” she added.

Navratilova became a US citizen back in 1981. Later in an interview, she revealed her sexuality and has been an activist for LGBTQ rights ever since.

Martina Navratilova stresses the importance of having in-game rivalries

Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert had a rivalry that will be remembered for ages. The 65-year-old recently spoke about the lack of a similar rivalry in recent years. While the former number 1 believes that it must be because of the transition between the old and new generation of players, she said it is important for the game.

Citing the example of men’s tennis, she explained how the rivalry between Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic has made the game more interesting. Unlike women’s tennis, where there are many good players, but no superstar like the big three.
