Angelique Kerber, the vibrant tennis player, has given her take on her on-court rival’s possible return to competitive tennis decision. In an exclusive interview, Kerber stated that the dynamic tennis player, Serena Williams, is a tool for motivation among young tennis players. The pregnant tennis player thinks Serena Williams could return to the court at some point.
Williams has left the door open for a potential comeback due to her adamant refusal to call it quits and end her career. One final appearance by the Queen of Queens could be the cure the tennis world needs. After a year that saw the retirement of many players, including Roger Federer and Venus Williams, fans would be delighted to see Serena pull off a ‘Tom Brady’.

Kerber awaits the comeback of legendary Serena Williams
Angelique Kerber credits Serena Williams for inspiring and motivating young tennis players. She continued, that it was an honor and a privilege each time she played against Williams. After her US Open defeat by Ajla Tomljanovic, Williams ‘evolved’ away from tennis. In an exclusive interview, Kerber shared her excitement to see Williams play vibrantly in her comeback journey.
Williams and Kerber have battled at court a total of nine times. Gerber has elegantly added three victories under her legacy. Williams was defeated by the three-time Grand Slam champion, in two major title finals. In their 2016 Wimbledon final matchup, Serena Williams prevailed over Kerber.

In an exclusive interview, Kerber was quoted as, “Yes, Roger had an incredible career and he will remain true to tennis. I also think about Serena Williams. But with her, I think anything is possible.”

She reinforced that she understands how difficult it is for Williams to decide and stop her passion. She further added,” If you realize that you can no longer reach the top level, your body no longer participates like that and then comes the new generation. Serena played well in New York. I don’t know what’s going on in her, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she suddenly got back on the court.”
Kerber shares her dynamic comeback plans
In late August, Kerber informed her fans that she was expecting a child. According to Kerber, the 2023 US Open will likely be her first Grand Slam amidst her comeback return. Gerber last played at Wimbledon, where she lost to Elise Mertens in the third round.

Tennis enthusiasts questioned Kerber’s absence after she cancelled her appearances in Toronto and Cincinnati. The baby is due in March, and the 34-year-old German tennis player says she intends to return quickly. She acknowledged that everything is going well for her. She keeps herself engaged by participating in sports like cycling and swimming. The German is a silver medalist in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. Kerber has previously expressed a desire to compete in the Paris Olympics in 2024.
