The ‘Challengers‘ fever has still not left the minds of the viewers. Besides the athletic story, the fact that the protagonist Tashi Duncan finds herself involved in a love triangle has become one of the most discussed aspects of the story. As several tennis stars took time to binge Zendaya’s recently released movie, Coco Gauff had a cheeky reflection on the story’s angle, relating it to her boyfriend.
Challengers has received immense attention from WTA stars, with Coco Gauff’s dig at her boyfriend stating, “There’s a part of the movie, I told my boyfriend, Thank God you don’t play tennis, because she’s right, I would not want to date a scrub on tour (laughter). That’s the only relatable part I have about Tashi,” she said, throwing a funny response towards her boyfriend, who is rumored to be a musical artist from Atlanta named Jalen Sera.
Coco Gauff was asked about ‘Challengers’ in press, she says she doesn’t know any throuples on tour
“Have you met characters like them in tennis?”
Coco: “I don't know any throuples going on on tour (laughter). 😂There probably are some, but I'm not in it. I'm not Tashi Duncan. I… pic.twitter.com/ueALzQ90x7

While fans have dug up info from the rumored couple’s Instagram activity, Gauff has highlighted the importance of having a personal life away from tennis. “To just have someone to talk to who is not involved in tennis at all gives me a fresh perspective,” she told TIME magazine last month. The couple has reportedly known each other since childhood, with Gauff’s mom Candi being his fouth-grade teacher.

While the Challengers trope doesn’t appeal to her, Gauff has found the movie entertaining. Nevertheless, the youngster’s final conclusion of the main character in the story marks it as negative. “Otherwise she’s not a nice character to how she treated her husband,” Gauff said.
As the US Open champion teased her boyfriend by picking a correlation from the recently released movie, it gave fans a hint of the adorable chemistry between the two.

Besides taking a cheeky dig at her boyfriend after watching the movie “Challengers”, Coco Gauff also took a moment to respond if she sees similarities to the protagonist in the WTA tour. Tashi Duncan’s love triangle involves her husband, Art Donaldson ( played by Mike Faist), and former boyfriend Patrick Zweig (played by Josh O’Connor). But Gauff doesn’t know if art imitates reality in this case.
“I don’t know any thruffles going on on tour (laughter). There probably are some, but I’m not in it. I’m not Tashi Duncan [sic]. I don’t know any Tashi Duncans [sic],” Gauff said, submitting her analysis of the angle. As the young American comes forward to drop a summary of the story, it acts as a fitting response. Because while fans may not be aware of any real-life scenario on the tour imitating Challengers, love stories of any kind are always fun to talk about!
