Following along the same lines, recently the USA Standing Adaptive Tennis tournament took place, where differently abled tennis players competed against each other. And the Belarusian player Victoria Azarenka took to Twitter to hail this lesser-known variant of the sport.

Victoria Azarenka hails a lesser-known variant of tennis

Tennis is one of the few sports that can boast of its inclusivity and diversity. It includes people from all aspects of life. However, that does not mean that each and every aspect of the sport is equally popular. However, continuous recognition by renowned players can increase the funding of different sides of tennis. Recently, Belarusian tennis star Victoria Azarenka took to her Twitter to hail a match between two differently-abled players at the USA Standing Adaptive Tennis tournament.

She stated, “Wow this is so impressive.” The two players were Nico Basaez from Chile and Yusuke Hatano from Japan.

Novak Djokovic is an avid proponent of wheelchair tennis

The Serbian tennis legend, along with being one of the greatest tennis players of all time, is also one of the biggest proponents of the specially-abled wheelchair variant of tennis. On more than one occasion, Djokovic has played with wheelchair tennis players and has contributed to the growth of the popularity of this variant.

Despite having a year full of challenges, Djokovic did not forget about his value. After winning the title in Tel Aviv, he played with Elay Chayot, a wheelchair tennis player. What made it more memorable was the fact that Djokovic did it while sitting in a wheelchair. Obviously, it was not easy for the tennis legend to get through the arduous task of hitting the ball, as well as controlling the chair.
