The 2024 Indian Wells Masters has given us just as much action as the previous versions, and fans have highly anticipated the event to arrive. The tournament is now in its semifinal stages. Iga Swiatek is set to play against Marta Kostyuk, and both players aim to attain a victory to ensure their 2024 season helps them gain another title.
Both semifinalists have been on a roll in the last few weeks. They have displayed great tennis, despite not having a great start to the season. They have found a good rhythm, but now they will face each other for even better glory.

Iga Swiatek vs Marta Kostyuk: Preview
Swiatek began 2024 in the Australian Open. Her hopes were high, but she was eliminated in the third round. She returned to the Qatar Open and showed her class that she had won the tournament with three breadsticks, a bagel, and no sets dropped. In Dubai, Swiatek then ran to the semifinal and managed to breadstick Elina Svitolina in their clash.
In the Indian Wells Masters, Swiatek is once again dominating the tour as she bageled Danielle Collins and Linda Noskova. She then breadsticks Yulia Putintseva in round three and then received a walkover from Caroline Wozniacki.

Marta Kostyuk began the 2024 season with a second-round exit in the Brisbane International. She found some success in the Adelaide International with a quarterfinal run. Her Australian Open run saw another quarterfinal run, but she lost to Coco Gauff. In the Qatar Open, Kostyuk had to withdraw in the second round due to injury. She also withdrew from Dubai and had a highly successful run in the San Diego Open, reaching the finals.
In the BNP Paribas Open, Kostyuk managed to have her own bake sale as she attained a breadstick against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and a bagel against Anastasia Potapova. She will now face Swiatek in the semifinal of the tournament.

Swiatek vs Kostyuk: Head-to-Head
Swiatek and Kostyuk have played against each other once in their careers. The clash took place in the 2021 French Open, and the Polish player took the lead, ending the set 6-3. Kostyuk showed some signs of a comeback as she managed to break Swiatek twice, but the WTA number 1 is at the top for a reason and shut down Kostyuk in the second set 6-4.

Prediction: Swiatek to take the win and move ahead
The Polish player might not have started the year with a bang, but she has found a great rhythm in recent tournaments. Her dominance in the Indian Wells is nothing short of impressive, and with a walkover in her recent bout, she has had a higher recovery time than Kostyuk. The 2022 Indian Wells champion has a shot at reaching the finals once again, rectifying her results from 2023.
