Ons Jabeur vs Lesia Tsurenko: Preview

Ons Jabeur will be coming into the tournament as the No. 4 seeded player in Doha. She got a pass to the second round without playing in the first round. This comes after her emotional defeat to Beatriz Haddad Maia in Abu Dhabi, where she cried during the match. Despite a promising start against Emma Raducanu in Abu Dhabi, Jabeur couldn’t maintain the momentum. The same thing happened with her at the Australian Open as well where she crashed out of the tournament in the second round despite making a good start to her campaign in Melbourne.

On the other hand, Tsurenko secured a victory against Zeynep Sonmez in the first round, breaking her streak of losses in previous matches. Her best performance came back at the Australian Open where she managed to make her way into the third round before bowing out to Aryna Sabalenka.

Prediction: Ons Jabeur to secure an easy win and make her way into the next round at the Qatar Open

The match will be an interesting encounter between the two stars. However, as things stand, Ons Jabeur looks in the prime spot to register the win and make her way into the second round. The way that she has played in the first round of the tournaments that she has played brings her into a comfortable spot to take the win home.

However, her Ukrainian opponent will not make things easy for her. Having already shown her form during the first round of the tournament, she will be looking to carry ahead her form and show what she is really capable of. What are your thoughts on this? Do let us know in the comments below!
