37-Year-Old American Model’s Bold Decision for a Social Cause Moves Tennis Legend Martina Navratilova as She Sends Heart-Felt Message

Tennis legend, Martina Navratilova has had long-standing cancer battles. In 2010, she underwent treatment for early-stage breast cancer. However, 13 years later, she suffered a double cancer blow. The former world number 1 was diagnosed with throat and breast cancer and subsequently, underwent treatment to cure the same. Finally, in June this year, she revealed that she’s cancer free now.

Like Navratilova, her long-time rival and close friend Chris Evert has also suffered from cancer. In 2021, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, the same form of cancer that was the cause of her sister’s death. Evert took the cancer battle head-on and eventually overcame it. Recently, American model, Chrissy Teigen dropped a bold post on social media that invited a strong response.

The 37-year-old model took to Instagram to share a topless image of her, encouraging fans to get regular mammograms done. The post went viral on social media quickly and invited reactions from numerous netizens, including Navratilova.

The tennis legend took to Twitter to share her opinion on Chrissy Teigen’s bold image for a noble cause. The 66-year-old said, “Good for you! Thank you Chrissy!”

Earlier, Teigen, while sharing her topless image on her official Instagram handle, said, “mammogram/boob ultrasound reminder! when else do you get to see your boob as a one inch steak!? ultrasound also comes with free titty lotion good for the entire day!!”

Last month, Teigen underwent her first colonoscopy. She revealed that people young in age are suffering from colon cancer and she was told by her doctor to get the early examination done. Prevention is better than cure and Teigen believed to get tested in order to know about early diagnosis, if any. Because cancer treatment can take a toll badly, as revealed by Navratilova.

Following winning her cancer battle, the tennis legend opened up about her condition in an emotional interview. She said, “So I was diagnosed early December and I finally got all-clear three weeks ago. So it really has been seven months of hell emotionally and physically.”
