42-Year-Old ‘Cheating Vegan’ Venus Williams Turns Into Chef as She Cooks Sister Serena Williams’ Favorite Meal in an Unapologetic Display of Persona

Despite getting diagnosed with her autoimmune disease, Venus Williams has somehow remained incredibly athletic and fit, as witnessed by her longevity on the court. To maintain those remarkable fitness levels and manage her Sjögren’s syndrome, the 42-year-old tennis legend has always adhered to a strict vegan diet. However, just like every other person, the 7-time singles Grand Slam champion also enjoys the guilty pleasure of having cheat meals occasionally.

On such an occasion, the former Wimbledon champion was spotted cooking one of her sister Serena Williams‘ favorite pasta. The American tennis star also gave a huge shout-out to all the ‘cheating vegans’ while showcasing her recipe.

The 42-year-old tennis legend has been away from competitive tennis for a while due to an injury that she picked up at the start of the season. However, Venus Williams is active on her online platforms as she loves to give some glimpses of her off-court endeavors to her fans and followers. On her Instagram, the former Wimbledon champion has recently made it clear that she regards herself as ‘Cheegan’ as she enjoys the guilty pleasure of eating milk products such as cheese in addition to her strict vegan diet.

Being a ‘cheating vegan’ aka ‘Cheegan,’ the American tennis icon was spotted cooking the Italian dish, cacio e pepe. Williams revealed that it was the first time she was cooking her sister, Serena Williams’ pasta. She added the caption in the video clip, “Making @serenawilliams favorite pasta cacio pepe. Shout out to all the cheating vegans! 🤪”

In that post, Williams stated, “Okay, so it’s my first time making Cacio e pepe and if we made some mistakes along the way, I should have actually made the sausage again toss it on the pan and I definitely added too much cheese I got to live with it and thankfully I’m not against cheese and special things are just recipes. Let me show you…”

Some of the fans in the comments section were surprised when they found out that the tennis superstar is vegan. Venus replied by saying, “Yes! A cheating vegan ;)”.

Williams also revealed the recipe for the Italian delicacy

Later, the former Wimbledon champion mentioned some of the ingredients that she used to cook the pasta dish. Williams certainly made it clear that she is a big fan of milk products as she named different varieties of cheeses like Truffle and Parmesan. She said, “I’m in the process of making Cacio e pepe and possible sauces. This is Truffle cheese actually in Croatia and there is Parmesan. I think I shredded too much cheese. This is some butter.”

She added, “I’m gonna go ahead and add some of the sausages on top so that you have that simulation of meat and then I’m going to add some green pepper that I kind of chopped myself here. And in the sausage, I added red pepper, black pepper-like red pepper flakes by pepper and salt.”

In the process of explaining her recipe, Venus also revealed she likes to have a protein drink alongside her meal. She stated, “And these two have to definitely go together because you’re gonna have your protein. At least I have to use it, most people have to and it’s a superfood.”
