Coco Gauff signs CG1s at Citi Open

The 2022 French Open finalist is in her home country where she’s playing in the WTA 500 Citi Open. Although not playing in doubles, Gauff has had a remarkable singles run and is in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament. After her pre-quarterfinal win, Gauff took time to sign autographs for fans.

While signing the autographs, Gauff noticed that there were a lot of CG1s that fans had bought to take her autograph. CG1 is Gauff’s signature sneaker in partnership with $5 Billion worth of New Balance. Reacting to the amazing fan response, Gauff took to Instagram and posted a story on her official Instagram handle, saying, “I signed a lot of CG1s last night. (still a crazy feeling) I appreciate ya’ll for supporting me. Thank you.”

Can Gauff win the Citi Open?

The American tennis sensation is the third seed at the tournament and has reached the quarterfinals. Recently, she had a commanding win over compatriot Hailey Baptiste. Gauff defeated the 204th-ranked opponent in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. In the quarterfinals, Gauff will take on Switzerland’s seasoned competitor, Belinda Bencic.
