The Williams sisters share a loving bond, even off-court. They are often spotted going all heart for each other. The bond was inevitably visible in the movie ‘King Richard.’ During a red carpet interview, Saniyya Sidney, who plays Venus Williams in the film, opened up on the advice she received from the Williams sisters during the movie shoot.

The 15-year old Saniya spoke about her bond with the two sisters. The bond shared between Venus Williams and Serena Williams is often regarded as the epitome of sisterhood. Even though the two have been one of the most successful women’s doubles pair, their everlasting relationship is not just restricted to the tennis court.

Williams sister’s advice for Saniyya Sidney

Saniyya Sidney walked the red carpet of the SAG Awards as a part of the cast of ‘King Richard’, which was nominated in the ‘Outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture’ category.

During her red carpet interview, Saniyya spoke on a variety of subjects like what she feels about winning at the SAG, an actor she aspires to work in the future, the nomination of ‘King Richard’ at the Oscars, etc. However, what caught the most attention was the advice she received from the Williams sisters.

Conversing about the movie, the reporter asked Saniyya if she got to meet the Williams sisters. The 15-year-old Saniyya, who played the role of Venus Williams didn’t blink even for a second as she answered the question with utmost excitement. She said, “Yes those are my big sisters now which is crazy to say. I love them both so much.”

Seeing Saniyya’s excitement, the reporter further asked if she received any advice from the Williams sisters before taking up the role. Saniyya’s reply to this question showed the bond shared between the two sisters. She said, “Just to be myself and to have fun and to always protect Demi who is my Serena because that’s what Venus does.”

Venus Williams and Serena Williams have been one of the most successful doubles pairs in the history of the sport. In a span of 18 years, the pair of Serena and Venus won a total of 22 titles and finished once as a runner-up. However, getting in-depth, out of these 22 titles, 14 are Grand Slam victories along with 3 Olympic golds.

The two last played doubles at the 2016 Wimbledon final, beating Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova in straight sets to clinch their 6th Wimbledon women’s doubles title.
