Since her retirement in 2003, Monica Seles has been living an extravagant life ever since. The nine-time Grand Slam champion, who was one of the most fearless players of her time, now regularly takes part in tennis events as a part of the media team. Apart from Seles, another such person is former Indian-American player Prakash Amritraj. Son of Indian tennis icon Vijay Amritraj, Prakash also played on the professional circuit, before taking early retirement from the sport. Following his retirement, the 38-year-old now works with the Tennis Channel as one of their presenters.

Being one of the most popular names on the Tennis Channel, Praksh hosts his own show named ‘Prakash Worldwide’. In the show, the former player travels to different cities around the world, covering a number of ATP and WTA events. Recently, while covering the Miami Open, Prakash met one of his role models, Monica Seles, as the two indulged in some light-hearted conversations.

In the tweet, Monica and Prakash were spotted attending a poolside party in Miami. Excited to host Monica Sales on the third season of Prakash Worldwide, Prakash asserted, “It’s a big step up this season. Look who we got on Praksh Worldwide.”

Monica Seles was a role model for most of the budding players of that time. She was predominantly a strong baseline player, who used two hands on both the wings. Her unique style of play coupled with her fierce on court attitude made her stand out from her fellow players. Statistically having the best tour record as a teenager, Seles in no time became a player every budding player looked upon.

Being a part of a bunch of budding players at that time who looked up to Monica, Prakash thinks no different. Expressing himself in front of Seles, Prakash said, “Monica, you do realize you are one of my heroes, right?” Taking the compliment with grace, Monica said, “Thank you, Prakash. Vice Versa.”

Apart from being a former tennis player, Prakash Amritraj is also a fitness freak. Taking to his Instagram, the 38-year-old regularly posts his workout videos, showing off his ripped body. In awe of Prakash’s workout ethic, Seles complimented back to Prakash saying, “I want to workout with him.” “So, you guys heard it here first. We’re gonna work out together,” she further added.

Following the conclusion of the Miami Open, the action now shifts to clay. While Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev have been sidelined due to their respective injuries, the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters should feature a strong field that also includes World No.1, Novak Djokovic. 34-year-old Serb is back in the mix after missing out on the ‘Sunshine Double’ owing to his vaccination status.
