‘You Did a Bad Job’- Aryna Sabalenka Reprimands Team in Her Own Style After Elena Rybakina’s Outright Dominance in Brisbane

It was the finals of the Brisbane International and Aryna Sabalenka went head-to-head against Elena Rybakina. In a match where many expected a nail-biting finish, it was the Kazakh sensation who showed pure one-sided dominance and eventually grabbed the victory in her favor. With a straight-set win, the second-seeded player laid her hands on the title and started her year on a high. However, despite the loss, the world number 2 did not seem to go in shock.

In the post-match conference, Sabalenka came ahead and took a cheeky dig at her team as she went ahead and mocked them. Not only this, she also thanked her opponent for a wonderful battle while suggesting that it was great of her to allow her to get three games.

In the finals of the Brisbane International, a match where many expected Sabaelnka to win, it was the Kazakh who came strong and won the match with a score of 6-0, 6-3. After the match, Sabaelnka came ahead and congratulated her opponent for the win.

Then, funnily, Sabalenka teased her team, saying, “You did a bad job today! 6-0, 6-3, that’s all your fault guys.” Her light-hearted comment to her team after the loss showed her playful side as she tried to play it cool despite the defeat. Sabalenka did not let the loss get over her and enjoyed the moment while celebrating her rival’s victory.

Sabalenka’s fun attitude even after a loss is nothing new. After being defeated by Ons Jabeur in the semi-final match of Wimbledon 2023, she came ahead and joked, “Thank u to those who supported me during this couple of weeks! I really enjoyed my time here at Wimbledon. Big congrats to @onsjabeur on an incredible performance today. I hate you now, but u know I love u anyway! good luck in the final, you got this.”

With the win, Elena Rybakina not only started the year on a high but also joined an elite list. In the second set, she dropped only three games, which was a record in itself.

In the second set, Elena Rybakina managed to defeat her opponent with the scoreline of 6-3. This allowed her to enter in an elite list. She became only the third player since 2000 to concede merely three games against a top WTA opponent in a tournament final. This feat aligns her with tennis greats Serena Williams (Australian Open 2007) and Flavia Pennetta (Indian Wells 2014), highlighting her relentless performance on the court.
