Then he suddenly becomes alive to surprise everyone. What is true about Messi in one game is somewhat true about Sloane Stephens in her entire career trajectory. The former World No.3 sometimes has surprised many but sometimes delivered inconsistent performances.

She lost to Victoria Azarenka in Round 64 in the Italian Open. And in the Morocco Open, she lost to L. Bronzetti in the semis. In the French Open, the American star lost to Aryna Sabalenka in the fourth round. After her loss, she took to Instagram to conduct a question-and-answer session with her fans. She answered a lot of questions about racism, her favorite outfit color, and her favorite memory. And, of course, her participation in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup.

When the American star was asked if she would be participating in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup, she revealed the ambiguity regarding the same. While she expressed her desire to participate, she highlighted the competition and the need to be picked.

She answered in her Instagram story, “You have to be picked for the team by the caption. If I do get picked, I will play. But we don’t know who is on the team until a month before.

It certainly is tough to represent the United States in the prestigious Billie Jean king cup. Because the USA has established its dominance over the tournament for so long. It has been one of the toughest teams to face. Therefore, only the cream of American tennis, get a chance to represent their country. The USA won the cup for a record 18 times. Also, it was a runner-up 11 times.

Stephens’ participation history in the prestigious cup

The William sisters, the brand names of WTA American tennis, have been regular participants in the Billie Jean King Cup. But Sloane Stephens too has had the honor of representing her country in the prestigious tournament. She participated in 2020-21 along with the likes of Serena Williams and Coco Gauff. In 2018 too, she got a chance to participate in the USA team where the Williams sisters participated too.

In 2017, though Serena’s sisters didn’t participate, she got the chance to represent her country along with Lauren Davis, Alison Riske, and others. She was a participant in 2016, too.
