Canada has been performing quite well at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. In total, it has won 14 medals as of now that includes 3 Golds, 4 Silvers, and 7 Bronze medals. However, the Canadian fans missed Bianca Andreescu as the nation failed to win any medal in tennis this year.

World No.5 Bianca Andreescu skipped the Tokyo Olympics 2020 due to an injury. However, there is another female athlete who has made Canada proud because of her performance yet again. It is none other than professional swimmer, Penny Oleksiak, who recently won her third medal in Tokyo.

Oleksiak did pretty well even at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics where she bagged four medals including a Gold. This year, even though she is yet to grab a Gold medal, the Canadian has already won a Silver and two Bronze medals. It is because of this reason that even Andreescu tweeted that she takes a lot of inspiration from her.

“You inspire me,” wrote Andreescu in the tweet.

Interestingly, Oleksiak is currently just 21-years-old and has already become the most successful Olympian of Canada- winning seven medals in her career so far. Thus, she is just not an inspiration for Andreescu but for every sportsperson as well.

However, she struck back and played some really great tennis at the Miami Open. Even though she lost to Ashleigh Barty in the finals and ended as the runner-up, she delivered some brilliant performances on the court.

Andreescu couldn’t continue playing with the same form and momentum as she failed to win even a single match at the French Open and at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. After this, she withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics 2020 due to an injury.

Fans still believe that Bianca Andreescu can make an incredible comeback on the court. Will she be able to succeed at the US Open 2021?
