A few days ago, Muguruza suffered a first-round exit against the Belgian player Greet Minnen, losing the match in straight sets. Earlier at the French Open, she suffered the same fate, as she lost in the first round as well. Despite the poor results, she is hopeful of finding her form in the latter half of the year.

Meanwhile, Stephens also had a great French Open, as she reached the quarter-finals. However, she did not enjoy great success on the green surface. After the loss, the American player will shift her focus to her home Slam, i.e. the US Open. In 2017, she surprised everyone by winning this event after coming back from a serious injury. However, her form on the tour has been inconsistent ever since, mainly due to injuries.
