Former Wimbledon champion, Garbine Muguruza is currently having a dreadful season. A few days back, she suffered a first-round exit from the Wimbledon Championships 2022. Later, she posted an apology letter on social media to the fans, which garnered many reactions. Now former US Open champion, Sloane Stephens showed her support by posting a message for the Spanish player.
The former US Open champion took to social media and wrote a heartwarming message for Muguruza.

It is worth noting that Muguruza posted another tweet earlier, where she apologized to her fans regarding her terrible performances on the tour this season. She wrote, “To my followers and those who place their expectations on me, just to say that I’m sorry and I hope that the remaining six months of 2022 are more bearable.”

A few days ago, Muguruza suffered a first-round exit against the Belgian player Greet Minnen, losing the match in straight sets. Earlier at the French Open, she suffered the same fate, as she lost in the first round as well. Despite the poor results, she is hopeful of finding her form in the latter half of the year.

Sloane Stephens also lost in the first round at this year’s Wimbledon Championships. She lost to the Chinese player Qinwen Zheng in a tough battle. Incidentally, Zheng has reached the fourth round of the French Open recently and has been playing some exceptional tennis this season.

Meanwhile, Stephens also had a great French Open, as she reached the quarter-finals. However, she did not enjoy great success on the green surface. After the loss, the American player will shift her focus to her home Slam, i.e. the US Open. In 2017, she surprised everyone by winning this event after coming back from a serious injury. However, her form on the tour has been inconsistent ever since, mainly due to injuries.
