Coco Gauff doesn’t believe in tying herself to tennis. The American tennis professional is a free-spirited person. Though she has her focus set on creating a historic career like the 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams. She never pushes herself to an extent where there is nothing but tennis. In short, she knows how to maintain balance.

Recently she incurred a painful defeat at the WTA Finals. Riding high on form, she entered the tournament but left with straight-set defeats in both singles and doubles. However, rather than spiraling about the loss, she used her time off the court to reconnect with an old friend.

Coco Gauff spends some quality time with her friend
The 2022 French Open finalist, upon getting some spare time, decided to pay a visit to her old friend and fellow tennis player Jamilah Nicole. They first attended a football match at the Hard Rock Stadium and then spent some time dancing around in their pyjamas. “When you haven’t seen each other in over a year but the vibe is still strong,” Nicole wrote.

The 18-year-old gained success pretty quickly. She rose to fame in the year 2019 after defeating the seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams and becoming the youngest player to win a WTA trophy at Linz Open. The cost of advancing at such a high pace was losing touch with old friends.

Gauff’s achievements this season
The teenager jumped places on the ranking table this year. With her multiple quarterfinals and semifinal runs, she entered the elite list of WTA. She secured a career highest ranking of World No 4 and currently is at the ranking of World No 7.

Further, she marked her name on some of the Russian legend, Maria Sharapova’s records. Gauff became the youngest player since the five-time Grand Slam champion in 2004 to compete for a Majors title and also the youngest since Sharapova to qualify for the WTA Finals.
