Similar to the seven-time Grand Slam champion, Selma Blair, a well-known actress, recently overcame a similar auto-immune ailment. And she didn’t stop there; she also discussed the difficulties she had in recovering from the sickness.

Similar to Venus Williams, Selma Blair experienced an auto-immune disease

The Cruel Intentions star, in an interview with People, opened up about her disease that was discovered in 2018. It was something that she suffered from since her childhood. Just like the former world number one, she also experienced unusual fatigue, dizziness and was terribly uncomfortable during her recovery from an auto-immune disease.

She said, “If you’re a boy with those symptoms, you get an MRI. If you’re a girl, you’re called ‘crazy.’ I just thought I was a hugely emotional person. I looked like a ‘normal’ girl to them, but I was Disabled this whole time. I can be sat on the couch and then I wake up. I’ve passed out and have no idea where I am. I was worried since the beginning of time that a glaring fault would remove me from the workforce.”

Further, she also detailed how she thought that she was just turning out to be a very emotional person and was a mess. But now, after recovering, she knows how she would spend the next 40 years of her life.

Venus Williams’ confession about autoimmune disease 

In a recent interview with Health, the 42-year-old tennis player discussed her decision to switch to a plant-based diet. Along with that she also revealed that her major reason for changing her diet was that it was becoming very difficult to be an active tennis player due to her autoimmune disease.
