In an exclusive interview, Evert once discussed her performance and criticised her close friend and opponent, Martina Navratilova. She called the Czech-American’s performance out of this world and spoke about why she is the best player in the world right now.

She was quoted as,” And I’ve talked about with Martina because I told her to, if you’re playing bad, I’m gonna say, Martina, you’re playing like a dog, you know? And she says, Oh, I know. I know. You. I think the older players can understand that. But others, I think might be a little sensitive if I’m critical of them.”

The rivalry between Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova is one of the greatest in women’s tennis and sports history. Together they played 80 matches, including 60 finals between 1973 and 1988.

Navratilova shares her views on players of the new generation

Martina Navratilova believes that Iga Svatek will go down in history as the best player of all time. Evert and Navratilova have both won 18 Grand Slam singles titles in their career. Evert has won 32 doubles titles in his career, three of them at the majors and two with Martina. During her career, Navratilova won 31 women’s senior doubles titles and 177 women’s doubles titles.
