Brad Gilbert took Zendaya to real tennis matches to expose her to the sport
Gilbert believed that Zendaya needed to know the real tennis world. That is why he accompanied the actress to two college tennis matches. Gilbert said– “When you have a short period of time, it’s like a player getting ready for the Aussie Open, She was really surprised. She didn’t realize there were matches going on and people screaming and the intensity of it, I think what really helped her a lot, we saw two Top 5 girls teams, Pepperdine and UCLA, crosstown rivals. It was a really intense atmosphere, so I think that was a really good experience for her to understand, ‘Ah, this college tennis is not a joke’.”
Brad Gilbert’s involvement in the movie contributed significantly to bringing authenticity to Zendaya’s performance in Challengers. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
