The WTA has come under fire many times this year for mismanagement. They are now under scrutiny by a legend of the sport, Pam Shriver. The 21-time doubles grand slam champion accessed the WTA website to find information on the WTA Elite trophy. However, what she found infuriated her, and she lashed out at the Women’s Tennis Association on social media.
The WTA has been on the receiving end of heavy criticism this year. Before Shriver shared her disappointment, fans lashed out at the WTA when pictures of the WTA Finals stadium, which was under construction, went viral. Safe to say the WTA is not the favorite tennis association this year so far.

For most of the tournaments, draws and several other details of the participants are shared by the tennis associations a few days prior to the event. But the WTA website is not updated with information about the scheduled tournaments. Recently, Pam Shriver could not find any information on the draws of the WTA Elite Trophy, which is supposed to be held in Zhuhai.
After noticing the lack of information available on an important tournament, Pam Shriver was livid. She shared a screenshot of the page, which showed no news on the draws on her ‘X’ page. Along with it, she wrote the caption, “@WTA why is there still no info on Zhuhai? No draw, no player list, no order of play… zilch, zip, zero. 😡“.
