The 28-year-old tennis player shares a special connection with the NFL team Buffalo Bills. The team is owned by her parents, Terry and Kim. While the tennis star took a little time to rise in the tennis realm, she will always be a part of the NFL world because of her parents.

The 28-year-old tennis player, after winning the second round, in the post-match press conference talked about the significance of the number 3 patch that we see her wearing during her matches. The tennis player is also ranked at third position, but the number 3 also means a lot to her rather than just her tennis rankings. 

In the press conference, Pegula opened up about how she wanted to do something special to show her tribute and support to Hamlin. And to choose her tribute, she ended up picking the number 3 which kind of itself was significant to her. However, while talking about her idea behind the tribute she also talked about how people are thinking that she is wearing the number 3 patch because of her ranking.

She said, “So I think it was just something cool and different I could do. It felt kind of special. Ironically I am No. 3 as well. But that’s not why. I think I saw someone tweet that. Why would you put your ranking on your skirt? I’m, like, No, that’s not why. (Laughter.) Yeah, I think it’s just a fun way to connect.” Not only she showed her support, but she also wished for the early recovery of the 24-year-old NFL player.

Pegula sends wishes from the tennis court

After the American tennis star’s first-round victory against Jacqueline Christine, she shared a message supporting Hamlin. After the Tennis player was done with her on-court interview, she walked towards the winners’ camera and wrote, “Go Bills #3.”
