‘My Sister Gave Her CPR..’- American Tennis Star Pens Down Horrifying Incident of Her Mother That Started With a Midnight Call

WTA star Jessica Pegula has recently become one of the faces of American tennis following her performances in recent years. Pegula’s power strokes have earned her worldwide recognition and an army of loyal fans. Although she is married, she still is extremely close to her parents Terry and Kim Pegula. Recently, Jessica shared some unknown updates about her mother. Although there were some sources that said her mother was in the hospital last year, Pegula then did not reveal any details.
However, after almost eight months, she has taken to talking about the incident. Kim Pegula, who co-owns Pegula Sports and Entertainment suffered a cardiac arrest last year. Kim also co-owns the popular NFL franchise- Buffalo Bills. Recently, her daughter has shared a distressing health scare about her mother and how she made a comeback. According to Pegula, she really needed to take off the weight of her mother’s episode off her chest. Talking about what entailed in June 2022 for the Pegula family, Jessica pens down on The Players Tribune, “I had just flown back to Florida from the French Open. I made the quarterfinals in singles and the finals in doubles. It was an amazing two weeks full of a lot of positives, including cracking the Top 10 in the world.”
She reminisces about a time that brings happiness to her fans worldwide. However, she and her family had no idea of what was about to come.

“A few days after I got home, I got a call around midnight (on my mom’s birthday) from my sister Kelly who was staying at my parents’ house. Something was wrong with our mom, and she was headed to the hospital in an ambulance.”
As she says this, we can imagine what it must be for her happy mindset to turn into that of utter distress. Jessica’s parents were asleep. Suddenly, her father woke up to see his wife struck by a sudden cardiac arrest.

Reminiscing about the pure horror that entailed, Jessica’s sister was the savior. Until the paramedics arrived on the emergency call, it was Jessica’s sister who took care of their mother.
Pegula writes, “My sister gave her CPR until the ambulance arrived. She saved her life.”
Later, the family shared an update about Kim’s health, but never went into the details. Further talking about her sister’s contribution to saving her beloved mother’s life, Pegula says how she didn’t want to take credit for it all.

After her sister somehow stabilized their mother, the paramedics arrived and were able to restore Kim’s heartbeat.
