Tennis grasped the attention of Alexis Ohanian after he met his wife, Serena Williams. Before that, he wasn’t an avid follower of sports. However, it was the push from his wife Serena Williams’ efforts to bridge the pay gap in tennis that led him to take a similar effort in other sports. He thus became the leading investor in Natalie Portman’s Angel City FC. As the popularity of women’s soccer increases in the US, it has brought young fans like Olympia into the picture. However, little did Ohanian know that the younger generation would be breaking his heart with their preference.

Ohanian recently took to Twitter to hail the passion of young NWSL fans while making a side appeal for them to support Angel City FC.

The Reddit co-founder, instigated by his wife Serena Williams, went on a mission to make equal pay in soccer a reality. He took the first step towards that goal when he invested $100 million dollars in Angel City FC, founded by actress Natalie Portman.

Apart from boasting about stats showcasing the rising popularity of women’s soccer, Ohanian has always hailed NWSL fans. This was visible in his latest post. Ohanian took to Twitter to share the overjoyed young fans who were excited to meet NY Gotham FC’s, Ali Krieger.

While the fan shed some happy tears after seeing her idol, Ohanian stated, “The young fans of the NWSL give me so much life. Even when they’re supporting the wrong club it’s a beautiful thing @alikrieger.”

Despite encouraging the young fans to cheer for Angel City FC, instead of its rival club NY Gotham FC, Ohanian rejoiced considering the fact that women’s soccer fan base is expanding. However, he has nothing to worry about, as Angel City FC has a renowned young fan.

Alexis Ohanian has got the most ardent young fan of Angel City FC right in his home. Olympia Ohanian became the youngest owner of a professional sports club at 3 when her father made her part-owner of the club.

Recently, Olympia and her father enthusiastically welcomed the new addition, Julie Ertz, to their club. Ertz has signed a contract to be with Angel City FC for one year. Moreover, the Olympian and two-time world champion is making a comeback after two years. Hence, the father-daughter duo made sure to give her a hearty welcome.
