Serena Williams’ former coach congratulates Megan Rapinoe on her glorious career
Recently, the former Australian tennis player took to her Instagram account to share a beautiful picture of the American soccer icon. She celebrated the career of the soccer legend, who has, over the years, showcased her talent by putting some of the amazing numbers in international women’s football. Prior to the women’s World Cup, the 38-year-old soccer legend announced that the tournament would be her last and that she would retire by the end of this year.

But now that the moment is inching closer, Stubbs shared some amazing numbers that were achieved by Rapinoe. Sharing a post that appreciated her for winning an Olympic gold medal and being the best FIFA women’s player in 2019, among others, the 52-year-old tennis coach wrote, “Congrats @mrapinoe.”
The 23-time Grand Slam Champion’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, is also a huge Rapinoe fan. She is one of the inspirations regarding why he wants his six-year-old daughter to get into the soccer world. But coming back to the story, the former doubles champion has always appreciated the women’s soccer legend and her contribution to women’s sports.
Subsequently, there were also times when she even stood by the two-time World Cup champion as she dealt with critics. Just a few months ago, when the 38-year-old became a target of scrutiny, Williams’ former coach came in support of her.
