Chris Evert won 18 Grand Slam titles during her glorious tennis career. However, even after hanging her racquet, her love for tennis has kept her associated with the sport as we frequently spot her giving commentary for various major matches. On the other hand, she has recently been getting interested in soccer. But not because of her own interest but because a satirical viewpoint of the game has increased her interest.
All thanks to the renowned American writer Glennon Doyle who can not help but see the game of soccer in a quite unique way. This perspective might sound bizarre to soccer lovers. However, for someone like Chris Evert, who is not much aware of the sport, this sounds like a fresh breath of air.

Chris Evert gets in line with soccer-challenged Glennon Doyle
What do Chris Evert and renowned American writer Glennon Doyle have in common? Their “love” for soccer! Recently, ‘Untamed’ bestselling author, Doyle watched a USWNT women’s soccer FIFA game with her wife and kids at home. Being not an avid soccer fan as the rest of them Doyle struggled to keep up with the sport.
Nonetheless, she tried her best and then eventually came out with her “version” of the world-beloved sport. She gave a “satirical” explanation of indirect, direct, and corner kicks. The writer associated them with feelings and left her followers in a frenzy. One of the spectators was none other than Chris Evert. Apart from tennis, Evert has always shown her admiration for golf but soccer is rather new.
However, she joined Doyle in promoting the “satirical” point of view of the game. She took to her Twitter to state, “Thank you so much for the info, Glennon Doyle, now I totally understand the game of soccer….”
