WWE has had many rivals in the past. However, their latest rivals are capturing the imagination of the fans. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was launched back in 2019 and their marquee star Chris Jericho decided to present their progress report.

The launch of AEW was announced by entrepreneurs Shahid and his son Tony Khan on January 1, 2019.

The company quickly rose to fame thanks to their storylines and big-name recruitments.

Chris Jericho talks numbers

Chris Jericho is a former WWE Superstar himself.

Ever since making the transition, he’s stayed rather loyal to his new employers. On his Twitter handle, he shared the TV ratings for Wednesday’s shows. NXT had beaten AEW that very week. However, AEW stays top in the 18-31 years demographics.

AEW Dynamite was placed 6 slots higher than WWE NXT. This shows how much AEW has grown when compared to its rivals.

Although, NXT is the third brand of the WWE and is not comparable to the main brands when it comes to popularity. Chris Jericho had to make a point to all the critics.

For a company that only made their debut last year, the accomplishment is something.

The reason for Jericho’s exit

Jericho left the company back in 2018, right after the Greatest Royal Rumble. He revealed on the Mature Audiences Mayhem Podcast that he left because of the WWE insulting him.

He recalled his WrestleMania 33 match with Kevin Owens

The match was supposed to headline WrestleMania, but WWE chose to go with Brock Lesnar Vs Goldberg.

Jericho wasn’t in favor of this as Vince McMahon changed plans. Even more hatred aroused in Jericho when their match card was moved to second place from the main event slot.

“I was told I have no right to it and things change all the time, I’m a big boy, I can handle it. But to take us from the main event slot and then move us to the second match on the card on a card that has 12 matches on it? I was like, that’s a f***ing insult”, Jericho said.

Jericho’s support for his new company shows his exemplary professionalism.

WWE did not manage to treat their Superstars right and Jericho can’t really be blamed for anything.

Now that AEW’s ratings are skyrocketing, WWE could reconsider any plans they make from now.
