The wrestling community lost a true gem lately. Though Bray Wyatt left for his heavenly abode two weeks before, on August 24, the family of the deceased superstar held his funeral services on Wednesday this week. The recent hurricane in Florida caused a delay in his funeral rites.

Wyatt’s funeral was held on the same day as this week’s AEW Dynamite, which took place in Indianapolis. This created a big problem for many AEW superstars who wanted to pay their respects to the late star. They could either attend Wyatt’s funeral in Florida or Dynamite in Indianapolis. But Tony Khan who is getting tons of heat for firing CM Punk lately saved the day.

He said, “A big shout out to Tony (Khan), he took care of everybody really well. He sent a jet down there, carried all the AEW talents up to TV in Indianapolis. I was very grateful for that, and definitely appreciated it. Once again, just showing how good-hearted of a human being he is. He really made it work out so that everyone who wanted to attend could attend.”

Hardy was an attendee of Wyatt’s funeral and was present with his wife to pay his tribute to the late star. He expressed his appreciation for the kindness shown by Khan and praised the AEW President for his compassionate gesture.

That said, while one WWE legend praised Khan for his kind nature, another WWE legend dragged his name through the mud for his not so wise move on AEW Collision.

Vince Russo lambasts Khan on Twitter

While the AEW President was basking in AEW All In glory, he was also met with the decision to fire CM Punk for his backstage fight with Jack Perry at Wembley, London. Collision after All In took place in Punk’s Chicago Hometown. During the show, Khan addressed the hostile Chicago crowd – who were already livid with rage because of him firing Punk.

Due to this, Khan became a victim of loud boos in the arena. Not only that, former WWE head writer Vince Russo also criticized his actions on social media. He claimed that he made a foolish decision by choosing to address Punk’s home crowd On Collision.

Russo believes that it was a very bad idea that made Khan look weak and desperate in front of the wrestling universe. He expressed his frustration over this matter on Twitter. The AEW CEO is fairly new in the wrestling business. Hence, Russo believes that Khan’s inexperience is causing all these issues for him.
