“Can’t Really Sugarcoat This”: Former AEW World Champion “Indefinitely” Ruled Out of Action With Injury

Just when The Golden Jets were on the rise, they were hit by a massive tragedy. AEW’s up-and-rising tag-team which consists of Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega might not be competing anytime soon. The reason behind it is that Omega has been ruled out of action on medical grounds and his return remains in the shadows.
AEW’s former World Champion Kenny Omega will be out of action
Taking to Instagram, Omega shared the news with his fans. In the post, where Omega could be seen lying on a hospital bed, he shared his medical status. In the caption he wrote, “I can’t really sugarcoat this. I’m out indefinitely.” He also mentioned that he tried pushing past the pain, but it eventually caught up to him. The former champion added that the doctors had caught whatever was wrong with him at the right time and he would stay in the hospital for some time.

In the meantime, he urged his fans to keep on enjoying pro wrestling. Omega had been suffering from a myriad of injuries for a long time. The star was out of action from November 2021 to August 2022. During this time, he underwent a hernia and knee surgery. Since his return in August 2022, he has participated in just 12 matches. His latest match was against Ethan Page on the December 9 episode of AEW Collison. The Golden Jets were supposed to challenge the current AEW Tag Team Champions, Ricky Starks and Big Bill, at the AEW Worlds End on December 30.

According to Sean Roos Sapp, Omega was not keeping well before his match with Page. As soon as he was finished with this week’s schedule, he decided to seek medical attention for his complaints. However, this might be an end to his in-ring career as stated by him a few months ago.

Before his return to AEW in 2022, Omega stated on a stream on Twitch with CEOGaming that another setback might cost him his career. He said, “If I get another major setback, that’s it … I’m done because I can’t do this ever again.” Omega also that the rehab he went to before his return was excruciating and can’t imagine going through all of that once again.
