Fans have been waiting for Matt Hardy‘s decision regarding the wrestling contract. The conversation about Matt Hardy becoming an unrestricted free agent soon has been circulating the walls of several pro wrestling discussion groups. Hardy has bolstered his already great reputation while wrestling for the AEW.

His contract with AEW reportedly expired, according to recent sources from Fightful Select. Hardy’s contract with AEW was reportedly extended for a short time leading up to WrestleMania. But it seems like his time there has expired, even though it was originally supposed to end in March.

He became a 4x Tag Team Champion during his tenure with the company. His feud with Sammy Guevara and the reunification of the Hardy Boyz after his brother Jeff’s entry in AEW in 2022 mark the biggest highlights of his current contract.

No one has come clean about the facts of Hardy’s departure, therefore the details remain a mystery. It would seem that he and AEW were unable to reach a new contract agreement. This was despite his many TV appearances, even after a serious concussion. Hardy reportedly rejected the suggested agreement and then decided to let his contract expire, according to sources close to him.
