FTR finally achieved what they set out to do in AEW. They defeated the tag team of Kenny Omega and Hangman Page to secure the big victory.

Before we get into the details of this modern classic, let’s focus on the biggest story coming out of the match. It looks like Hangman Page has been officially evicted from The Elite after weeks of tensions.

Hangman Page was the one to take the pin after a spike piledriver by FTR. After the match, Kenny had the broken shard of a table in his hand. It looked like Omega would finally go unhinged and destroy his friend.

However, better sense prevailed and he walked backstage. He confronted the Young Bucks and let them know that he was done with Hangman. This was a possible hint at one of the biggest rivalries we’ll see in the short history of the promotion.

Kenny Omega and Hangman Page couldn’t match the gelled FTR

The match was a homage to the kind of tag team tradition that FTR pride themselves on. Instead of being a spot fest, it had some old-fashioned ground and pound battles.

FTR ensured that the match didn’t become a tornado like almost all other matches in AEW. They cut the ring in half, taking turns to obliterate Kenny or Hangman.
