AEW’s All In event at Wembley earned rave reviews from wrestling fans for putting out a great show. But the backstage altercation between CM Punk and Jungle Boy Jack Perry has overtaken the post-event hype about the show. We know that the altercation happened before the opening match of the show between CM Punk and Samoa Joe for the Real World Championship title.

After the news broke out, both superstars involved in the altercation were suspended. Moreover, AEW fans are worried about Punk’s availability for their next big event. AEW has another major show ‘ALL OUT’ at United Center, Chicago, Illinois on Sept 4 and Tony Khan has shared his thoughts on the matter.

Tony Khan says CM Punk’s situation is “challenging”

Wrestle Pursuits tweeted on X on Sept 1 a snippet of Khan’s interview at All Out Media Call. In the interview, he clarified his stance over the matter and CM Punk’s status for ALL Out show.

Khan said, “That is my goal. I promise, that is what I hope, that we have a resolution. I don’t expect a full resolution, but I at least expect more information by then. I’m going to keep working on it. It’s a challenging situation, to say the least and not something I was hoping to be dealing with.”

The situation has put Khan under tremendous pressure as the superstar involved in the altercation is CM Punk. Fans expected Punk to be on his best behavior after months of hiatus due to similar issues. Nevertheless, the AEW president wants some resolution to the matter before Punk appears for the show.

On the question about who initiated the confrontation, Tony Khan said, “We’re still continuing to investigate an incident that happened before All In, I can’t comment any further about it at this time.”

There have been conflicting reports about who initiated the confrontation. Some accounts suggest that Jack Perry approached CM Punk backstage, while others claim that Punk made the first move. Regardless of who started it, this incident raised questions about the tension between the two started from an episode of AEW Collision.

Tracing the altercation back to AEW Collision glass break

As per reports, during the pre-show match between against Hook, Jungle decided to do a spot involving a car window. While turning to the car window, he said, “It’s real glass, cry me a river.” It was referenced to CM Punk who had previously rejected the idea of using actual glass on the episode of AEW Collision. This infuriated CM Punk, who did not hesitate to confront Jungle Boy.

Jack Perry is not the only superstar who has a backstage beef with CM Punk as the list includes superstars like Kenny Omega and the Elites. But Khan is making sure that he has the best information at hand before he decides on anything. Punk could face drastic consequences if his role in the altercation emerges as massive. The AEW president will be keen to put forth a precedent that ensures no favorability is at play.
