Shaquille O’Neal Reveals Why He Teamed Up with Rising AEW Superstar: “I’m Honored”

Perhaps the biggest crossover moment between Basketball and pro-wrestling is when the Lakers’ legend Shaquille O’Neal laced up a pair of boots and wrestled a match with the former TNT champion Cody Rhodes.

For years and years, Shaq has teased his interest in becoming an MVP inside the squared circle However, the stars never aligned until Tony Khan’s AEW thought of putting Shaq and Cody together inside the ring.

However, Shaq is not alone in AEW. The basketball legend has AEW superstar Jade Cargill by his side, and Shaq has some pretty nice things to say about Cargill.

 Shaquille O’Neal sees himself in Jade Cargill

In a recent episode of ‘Shaq Life’ which was narrated by rapper Snoop Dogg had some snippets of the feud between Shaquille and Cody Rhodes.

In the episode, it seems like Shaq is still ready to transition for a professional wrestling career, and given his athletic genes, it doesn’t feel like it would be difficult for him.

During the episode, Shaq was asked about the up-and-coming AEW superstar, Jade Cargill. Back when Shaq wrestled a match with Cody, Jade accompanied him for the match.

Shaq confessed that he is honored to have someone like Jade, who shares the same basketball history as Shaq and he believes that she will definitely become one of the ruling female superstars of all time in the industry.

“Jade [Cargill] picked me as a partner. We’re good friends, she’s a former basketball player, she’s a healthy athlete. This is something as a child had the same aspirations that as a child I had. She wanted to be a professional wrestler. I’m honored to be her partner and help her get her first win.” he said.

Shaq is no stranger to appearing inside the ring as he once stepped foot in WWE and the crowd witnessed a stare-down between him and Paul Wight, fka The Big Show.

Now, this is a dream match that can become a possibility since Paul is working under the AEW umbrella.
