Mercedes Mone’s ankle injury at NJPW Resurgence in May 2023 put a halt to her momentum as she went on an adventure in Japan. Nevertheless, she tried her hand at something new and now looks likely to make her AEW debut in March of this year. Her debut for Tony Khan’s promotion is mooted to happen at AEW Big Business, which is set to emanate from the TD Garden in Boston on March 13.

Ahead of Sasha Banks’s AEW debut, she outlined her desire to have a showdown against a revered former WWE champion. Interestingly, the female stars Mone challenged don’t ply their trade in WWE or AEW at the moment.

AJ Lee, former WWE Divas champion, etched her status as one of the most legendary women’s stars to grace the squared circle in WWE. Nevertheless, she had to undertake an arduous path in carving out her legacy. She had to deal with heat from almost every superstar who set her fangs against her to enhance their respective legacies. Recently, over social media, Sasha Banks shared a portrait. The story shows Sasha Banks and AJ Lee having an interaction through an animated medium. Nevertheless, chances of seeing this dream match appear thin as AJ Lee retired from in-ring competition in 2015 due to her injury issues. The pro wrestling community regained a tiny ray of hope once CM Punk made his return to the promotion despite leaving in excruciating circumstances in 2014. However, that doesn’t seem likely and with Banks now entering AEW, the chances of that matchup remain paper thin.

The Boss has already set the stage alight with hype by posting a training video before her reported AEW debut.

Even though the news hasn’t been made official yet, several signs hint that Mercedes Mone, fka as WWE star Sasha Banks, will be making her foray into AEW.  Millions of wrestling fans are excited that AEW could be Banks’ new home. Mercedes Mone has now put up a video with Kendrick Lamar’s song “Count Me In.” Mone playing in the background showing her working out. She also wrote “It’s Almost Time” in the comments, which intensified rumors of her AEW appearance at Big Business.

Even though AEW Big Business will probably have a blockbuster card, Mone’s potential AEW debut is certain to steal the show. Getting into AEW could be an excellent choice for Mone because of the fresh matchups and storyline on display in her new promotion. However, one match that doesn’t look likely to happen is Mone’s proposed matchup against Lee.
