While revealing her conversation with Shawn Michaels, she said, “Once again, I just appreciated so much that he’s even taken the time out to look at my work, to enjoy my matches, watch my promo, stuff like that. I mean, um… you know I had conversations with Shawn Michaels and I had no clue that Shawn Michaels had any idea who in the world Kamille was.”

Kamille, a former softball player turned wrestler, dominated the NWA as Women’s Champion for over 2 years. She defeated Serena Deeb in June 2021 and held the title for a record-breaking 730 days, defending against various challengers. While she lost the championship in August 2023, she remains a respected figure in the wrestling world.

The moment in reference happened as Kamille has been a free agent since January 1st. She competed in her last match at NWA in November and took a break in December. She did not know what to expect as a free agent when she got a call from Tony Khan and Shawn Michaels. While Tony Khan is the founder of AEW, Shawn Michaels is the head of NXT and both are talent scouters for their respective brand.

Kamille further explained her excitement on receiving a call from HBK. She said, “So, I mean you know it’s just like, stuff like that blew my mind I mean. And it was super humbling and amazing and, yeah to hear Tony have such nice feedback when you asked him the question the other day was just really refreshing.”

Well, looking at her excitement one can tell that she could head towards NXT if an offer is made. So, AEW is probably set to lose another top-tier indie talent.
