WWE wrestler Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, has dominated the wrestling stage with his exceptionally well-built physique and insane training regime. Johnson has been in showbiz for nearly two decades and is popular for his roles in the Fast Five, Jumanji, and Black Adam. This time he will be playing the role of legendary UFC Heavyweight star Mark Kerr in the new A24 film, The Smashing Machine, to be directed by Benny Safdie.

The Rock has devoted himself completely to attaining perfection for playing the former UFC athlete. Taking a small break after WrestleMania XL, Johnson seems to have kick-started his training for the role now.

Dwayne Johnson is becoming a student of the game

Dwayne Johnson recently shared a video on his Instagram account addressing all the questions asked by his fans about his training for the upcoming project. The Rock took only ten days off after his twelve-week program for WrestleMania XL and was now back in the gym. Johnson starts his workout regime by doing cardio on an empty stomach and also mentions taking 100 to 150 mg of caffeine along with aminos and his probiotics.

After this, The Rock does another round of interval cardio, also known as high-intensity cardio, for 40 to 45 minutes. Then he does 45 to 50 seconds of stairmaster at level 14 or 15. Then gradually bring it down to level seven or eight. “It’s basically almost a minute high-intensity and then two-minute recovery, but where you keep it a really nice steady state,” he explained.

After his cardio, The Rock goes down to his house to have his breakfast and lunch. Then he is back in the gym for some weight training and has his workout with his post-workout shake. The WWE wrestler-turned-actor ends his workout with a 15- to 20-minute cardio workout and has his final meal of the day. Johnson ends his day by doing his MMA training at the end for an hour or an hour and a half. This, according to him, is how he is becoming “a student of the game.

The Rock is giving it his all

A few days earlier, The Rock shared a glimpse of his MMA training routine for his upcoming movie. He puts his boxing training as the last workout of his day. The Final Boss wrote, “I’m learning daily, and it’s been a very humbling, intense, and motivating journey into this world of combat and becoming, Mark Kerr – the two-time @UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion, World Vale Tudo Champion.”

Johnson mentioned him as a “hard worker” but he aims to work even harder for his upcoming project. The Rock wants to give everything he has for the role and wrote, “I realized that I’d have to work harder with this role than anything I’ve ever worked for in my life.
