On the flip side of excitement, thrill, and breathtaking sensation, WWE brings tons of physical hazards to the table. One of the most common forms of this hazard that wrestlers have to deal with is concussions. They stand for a certain type of brain injury that can sometimes be as severe as life-threatening. So, WWE has strict provisions for those who suffered frequent concussions or showed signs of throughout their careers.

There are many unfortunate superstars who fell victim to this traumatic injury and had to end their career midway. WWE commentator Corey Graves had a similar experience during his brief wrestling stint. Graves didn’t kick-start his career from the commentary booth. Rather, the former NXT tag team champion always dreamed of wrestling in the squared circle for a long time and becoming a superstar someday. But destiny wasn’t kind to him, as he had to hang up his boots for good after receiving two consecutive concussions.

The WWE commentator disclosed how traumatic the incident was and the implications of the career-ending injury.

While the Pittsburgh native was pretty quick to prove his excellence in the commentary box too and became the signature voice of NXT, it seems he still bleeds for the unfortunate wound he has been carrying ever since he sacrificed his dream career.

In the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Grave voiced his feelings regarding how that one fatal turn in his career took a toll on every other aspect of his life, including his relationship with his wife Carmella. ‘It was the worst experience of my life, honestly, like there was good, probably six months to a year. That I mean, my life kind of fell apart. Not only did I have my dream job sort of taken away from me, and it affected every aspect of my life. Man, my wife and I were having a problem literally… if it could have gone wrong, it was wrong…’ he noted.

He further detailed how he eventually landed at the commentary table after WWE allowed him to continue a career in the company. Unfortunately, Graves and his wife suffered another devastating setback last year.

Graves and his wife Carmella endured another misfortune last year

Speaking of Corey Graves and his wife Carmella’s recent life events, WWE’s power couple went through a major heartbreak last year. After tying the knot, the couple planned to take their relationship to the next stage, but here again, fortune didn’t support them and Carmella ended up treating ectopic pregnancy after having a miscarriage. She, however, managed to get out of her remorse and shared the news with the world to raise awareness regarding the issue.

The Raw superstar also shed light on her plan to have a baby soon amid her month-long WWE break.

On the other hand, we can also expect Graves to be back in the ring soon after 7 long years, given that he is now medically cleared to wrestle again.
