John Cena never says no to any challenge and follows his catchphrase ‘Never Give Up’ in his life. Similarly, while he was dating his ex-girlfriend and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, the couple was competitive several times. 

Once Bella went on to challenge Cena to showcase their athleticism. Additionally, she said something cheeky to her then-boyfriend which made the WWE legend accept the challenge.

A few years ago, in 2015, on an episode of Total Divas filmed in the gym, John Cena and Nikki Bella showed each other their strength. Also, the former Divas Champion later challenged Cena to a race to see who’s fast. Cena says, “You are not even strong”. Bella replies, “Excuse me! (Flexing her biceps) Do you think these just come like this?”

The 16-time world champion told her to pick a plate that he picks and throws at her. Bella was surprised when he threw the plate, but they were fake ones aka “trick plates”. Cena and Bella asked each other who’s faster. Consequently, their trainer suggested a race between the two.

Bella emphatically said, “Let’s do it unless you are scared.” Cena replied, “I don’t wanna embarrass you.” The AGT judge interjects, “You will not embarrass me. I’ll embarrass you. You are gonna be beaten by a girl”

The Peacemaker star had no reply to this statement made by Bella. His ultimate reaction was, “Oh shoot…”. While Cena sat there with a shocked face over Bella’s statement, the Bella Twin kept laughing at her now ex-boyfriend.

Furthermore, in this short video, Bella mentioned they both regularly competed which each other. 

Nikki Bella felt she should break up with John Cena

The power couple of WWE got engaged in front of a larger crowd at WrestleMania 33 after defeating The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match. However, a year later, Cena and Bella announced their break up. A few months back in July, Nikki Bella shared she knew she had to break up with John Cena.

Bella said to Entertainment Tonight, “Sometimes we meet amazing people, but we’re just meant to live a different life. … I just got this feeling so deep in my gut of, like, ‘I need to walk away.’ And no one thought I would, but it was hitting me so hard. Even though it’s painful and even traumatizing, I just knew it was right.”
