In today’s world, there is no one at the height of popularity in the combat sports world than Brock Lesnar. But there was one time when even Lesnar was taken as a rookie who didn’t know any better. But the man behind WWE’s biggest stars turned this farm boy into combat sports’ most threatening individual in just a few years.

When he entered WWE, he was a nobody, but when he left the company, he became one of the top dogs there. But his exit from the company didn’t come without repercussions. While there were many obstacles in his way, he made it into the MMA world in the end. And it changed history as we know it.

Brock Lesnar once talked about the promotion for his MMA debut

In his book, Death Clutch, Brock Lesnar talked about his first MMA fight. He wrote, “About a month before my scheduled fight, K-1 tells us there is going to be another delay. They couldn’t get Dodger Stadium, so now the fight was going to be moved to June 2007 at the L.A. Coliseum. You know the routine. K-1 said they were planning to make this the biggest MMA fight ever, and that they were going to put a hundred thousand people in the stands.

They expected all of L.A.’s Korea Town to show up for BigHead, and all the WWE fans to show up for me. I wanted to get started with my new career. And while I’m making sweet dough because of my contract with K-1, I knew I’d be spending my best fighting years dealing with delays and bullshit games. I simply want to train, fight, and make money. I don’t want to have to worry about all the stuff the promotion is supposed to take care of. That’s their job.

From there Brock Lesnar went on to win the UFC World Championship and defend it on several occasions. Even his second venture into the MMA world was successful. But his comeback to wrestling has been the peak of his wrestling or MMA or sports career and it is exciting to see the Beast Incarnate.
