“Absolute Hero”: Fans Remember Deceased WWE Warrior Award Recipient on His 42nd Birth Anniversary

WWE Universe remembers a WWE Warrior Award recipient Shad Gaspard on his birthday. Recently, WWE posted a pic of late superstar Shad Gaspard on its official Twitter handle. The post made WWE fans emotional and proud at the same time, and they started tributing the warrior via tweets.
Born in Brooklyn on January 13, 1981, Shad Gaspard started his WWE career in 2002. He participated in the WWE reality show Tough Enough season 2. Although he qualified for the finals first, but later the creatives disqualified him for failing a physical test.
After the show, WWE recruited him, and Shad began his journey as a professional wrestler. In 2006, he also formed a team with The Neighborhoodie (later JTG) named Cryme Tyme. During his time at WWE, Shad was a part of several major storylines, including a feud with CM Punk.

In May 2020, Shad Gaspard and his son went to Venice beach in Los Angeles. There, they got caught up in strong currents. When the lifeguards came to rescue them, Shad asked them to save his son first, but he himself couldn’t make it and disappeared underwater.
Police found his body on the shores of the beach after three days. Shad was just 39 years old when he died saving his son.

Shad Gaspard was tributed with several awards after his death. He was awarded the PWI most inspirational wrestler of the year. An award was also named after him in 2021. And, in 2022, WWE honored him with the WWE Warriors award.
Seeing WWE’s post on Twitter, fans started coming forward and tributing the real-life hero via tweets. They are remembering Shad Gaspard hoping if he was still alive, then he must be at the top of the industry.

Shad Gaspard would have been 42 years old if that tragic event didn’t happen. On his birthday, the entire staff of Essentially Sports remembers him, not only for his pro-wrestling career but also for his good deed.
