2023 was not a great year for the team, with multiple losses and a struggle to gain a footing in the roster. However, on the day 1 episode of SmackDown, they wished to clear the slate and start afresh. This could spell trouble for the rest of the roster.

Taking the mic, Lashley announced that he would be part of the Royal Rumble 2024. This will be the first PLE of the year that Lashley will grace. This got a massive pop from the crowd. Despite not having the powerful run he did back in the day, Lashley still has a good fan following.

Unfortunately, his announcement would be overshadowed by a returning Authors of Pain and Karrion Kross taking him and The Street Profits out. This came as no surprise because this was hinted at during the last episode of SmackDown.
