After WWE announced a star-studded NXT show this week, rumors were that The Undertaker would return to WWE after 8 months. The last time we saw him on WWE TV was in a segment on 23 Jan RAW during Bray Wyatt’s feud against LA Knight. Taker’s appearance was not made official till the last moment, but the cries of WWE fans made the dead man rise again.

But October 10 NXT show was presumably Taker’s first appearance on the NXT show with a gong. However, it was The American Badass instead of The Dead Man this time for the NXT crowd. Taker did his thing and then signed off the show for the crowd with a special gesture with former NXT Champion.

WrestleOps tweeted on October 10 a clip from the NXT show with the caption, “The Undertaker & Carmelo Hayes share a special moment after #WWENXT went of the air tonight. @Carmelo_WWE  🚀🚀🚀”. The clip is from the moment after NXT went off the air.

In the clip, The Undertaker and Carmelo Hayes can be seen shaking hands with the NXT crowd as they walked to the back. At the entry point, both superstars gave a look back before they raised their right fists in sync. It was a reference to Taker’s American Badass gimmick during the early 2000s.

The moment in reference occured after the main event of the show that included a special match between Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker. While Hayes appeared with Cena on his side, Breakker was accompanied by The Bloodline’s wise man, Paul Heyman.

The Undertaker appeared after the match got over when Bron Breakker called himself the most Badass person in WWE. Just then, Taker’s entrance music hits, and the whole arena goes silent including an awestruck Breakker.

The Undertaker shows Bron Breakker the real American Badass

When Taker stood face-to-face with the young star, Breakker greets him by calling Taker the Badass of the old era. He then proceeds to declare himself as the most dominant Badass of the present.

Taker simply acknowledges Breakker’s words but not before delivering a chokeslam. Taker then informs Breakker that his time will but it’s just not today. The Chokeslam from The OG American Badass send Breakker out of the ring before Hayes and Taker take center stage.
