Dwayne Johnson once opened up on the disadvantage he had over other top actors such as Robert Downey Jr while starting out in Hollywood. From just seven dollars in his pocket to having a worth of $800 million, Dwayne Johnson has come a long way in his career. Currently, one of the biggest names, Johnson always did not have such a revering acting career. He would begin his career in Hollywood filled with hardships and dedication. And, during the promotion of his 2014 Hercules film, Johnson opened up on the advantage of belonging to Hollywood families.

What did Dwayne Johnson claim about the advantages of belonging to a Hollywood family?

Often having roots in an acting family, or family belonging to the film industry helps. The connections and the well-to-do status form an effective part of the developmental stages of an actor. Speaking on Magic Radio during the promotions of Hercules, Johnson spoke on this issue.

The Brahma Bull of WWE addressed this issue and claimed how other top actors enjoyed an unfair advantage over him in the industry. Actors such as Robert Downey Jr belonged to an acting family, as his father Robert Downey Sr. was an already renowned actor.

He claimed that it definitely aids an actor if they belong to a film background. He said, ” Sure! I do. You know, when you have a family in Hollywood not to take away from the work cause you still have to perform, obviously. But, it helps a little bit because you its the power of leveraging relationships that you have. “

Johnson further opened up on the hardships he faced due to him not coming from a film background. The 51-year-old actor said, “I came in a non-traditional way, so I felt like I had to work so much harder, just to become a good actor, and just to know acting. I am happy to be in the position I am today, and having accomplished what I have accomplished in Hollywood.”

He claimed, “I also feel that there is a wolf in my door everyday and is just scratching, and making the wolf noises, and its like right there. And the reason why I said that is because I am always hungry.”

Although Johnson is suffering through a rough patch now, with several extensive projects lined up, fans hope they turn out exactly how Johnson wishes them to be. Despite not having connections in Hollywood, The Rock established himself as a mega star in the movie industry and surpassed the likes of Robert Downey Jr. to become the highest-paid actor. Now that he is a superstar with deep connections in Hollywood will it make it easier for her daughter to transition into the film business if she wishes?

Ava Raine, the daughter of Dwayne Johnson is currently trying her luck in the wrestling business. She is currently a part of Schism stable in WWE’s NXT, a villainous stable. Johnson himself began his career as a babyface, before joining The Nation of Domination and turning heel.

Raine lacks the wrestling proficiency her father had and still has a lot of room for improvement left. Being the daughter of The Rock, she has a lot of expectations on her shoulder, and WWE will give her ample amount of time to improve.

As Johnson spoke about relationships and connections in Hollywood, fans expect him to open the door for his daughter to enter Hollywood, and make a career of her own.
