The storyline involving Randy Orton, The Fiend, and Alexa Bliss has polarised the WWE universe. The fans either hate the storyline or they love it. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has given his verdict on the storyline.
The five-time world champion has had his fair share of supernatural elements. His storyline with the Boogeyman got him some attention during his run.
During his latest Hall of Fame podcast, a fan asked Booker his opinion on the storyline and whether it looked embarrassing for a ‘legend killer’ like Randy. Booker had an interesting take on the matter.

“People can say what they want to say,” Booker said, “But the way I’m to look at the Alexa Bliss/Randy Orton angle is ‘Okay, they’re trying something,’ okay? They’re trying to be able to find something that’s gonna appeal to somebody that may like that.”
Although Booker T had always preferred the more ‘hard-hitting’ aspects of the sports, he can understand that WWE is trying to pull off a younger demographic.
Booker T thinks parents’ discretion is always needed
WWE has become PG-13 to suit a younger audience. In that aspect, a supernatural storyline with arson and murder, etc could be a little controversial.
To this, Booker said how it is always the parents’ responsibility. “It’s your discretion whether you want to take your kids to watch the wrestling match.,” Booker said. “That’s the way I try to cater the show from that perspective. That way it’s all-inclusive. It’s not vulgar enough to where you don’t want your kids to come and watch it, but it is a parental discretion move for me.”

The current WWE product has evolved, and the storyline with Bliss, Orton, and Fiend is a new experiment. No matter how much PG-13 the business has become, it will be an adult-oriented one.
“When men are fighting normally, adults are going to be watching, and back in the day, they did,” Booker explains it. “Of course, wrestling was different. I know we’re in a different era, I know we’ve evolved, but to keep the eyes on the product, I don’t think that part of the business changed.”
