WWE stars John Cena and Nikki Bella were the celebrity power couple in wrestling not so long ago. The two shared a memorable moment when Cena proposed to Nikki Bella in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania 33. Unfortunately, the pair split up a year later and went their separate ways. This news was also sad for their fans. After the Cena-Nikki Bella split was played out on TV, many people labeled the whole ordeal fake. However, the other half of The Bella Twins, Brie Bella, took an exception to this view.

Cena became an integral part of Nikki Bella’s life and even joined the cast of Total Bellas reality show. It showcased the life of the pair and even featured moments after they had split up with the drama unfolding on screen.

This led to many believing that the whole deal was a play for the cameras. It also didn’t sit well with Nikki’s twin sister, Brie Bella. In an interview a few years ago, she said wanted to go on a rant to tell people that they aren’t right about this.

Brie Bella opened up on John Cena and Nikki Bella breaking up

WWE had John Cena’s real-life relationship with Nikki Bella play out on TV and in the ring. The two even teamed up together to wrestle another WWE real-life couple, The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33. After Cena and Nikki Bella won the match, The Cenation Leader proposed to her in front of thousands of fans in attendance.

But the couple ended their relationship of six years in 2018 after disagreements over starting a family just six weeks from their wedding. This whole situation also played out on the E! reality show Total Bellas and some people trolled the couple and branded the whole fake.

However, in an interview with Metro.co.uk in 2018, Nikki’s twin sister said all this was real, and she had to ‘bite her tongue’ from going off on the trolls. She said, “It’s been really hard for her to relive – especially when people call all the drama fake. It’s like, “Nope, this is real life!”. She added, “On a daily basis, every day I have to bite my tongue! I so badly would love to go on a Twitter rant or an Instagram story rant and just tell people, “Listen, I’m the sister and I see everything, and you’re wrong, you’re wrong, you’re wrong!”

As fans know, both individuals have moved on since their separation. In 2019, Nikki Bella began dating dancer Artem Chigvintsev, who was her dancing pro on the reality show Dancing With the Stars. The two got married in August this year.
